There is still some confusion over the change in MGS from Hull to Southern Insurance Underwriters on your GeoVera Personal Lines business. To assist you and your client, here are some frequently asked questions, and answers.

Frequently Asked Questions on your GeoVera Personal Lines Business
#1 - Why did my client get a non-renewal notice?
The prior servicing carrier is sending non-renewals on GeoVera business, as they are no longer the MGA of record for Florida Farm Bureau. These are being mailed out approx 100 days in advance of the expiration dates
#2 - Will my client get a renewal quote?
YES - a renewal quote will be sent by GeoVera approx 65 days prior to expiration (even though the risk received a non-renewal notice for change of MGA/broker)
#3 - Will my client know what's going on?
Geovera has included a stuffer with the renewal offer, which explains the change in servicing MGAs and provides the renewal payment address.
#4 - Who is handling my GeoVera renewal policies?
As of 10/2/08 renewal dates, your servicing has been moved to Southern Insurance Underwriters Inc, c /o GeoVera Specialty Insurance.
#5 - Do we lose the renewal credits on the Geovera policies?
NO - renewal credits are being applied by GeoVera
#6 - Do I need to send a new application to SIU?
No, since this is a renewal to GeoVera, they do not require a new application
#7 - Must I send a new Diligent Effort form each year?
Yes, because this is a State requirement. Call your underwriter or Marketing Rep for further information
#8 - Where do payments for renewals get sent?

#9 - How do I know if a payment was received?
You can check the GeoVera website
#10 - I forgot my SIU Geovera log-in and password
Just call SIU at 800-866-3324, and our personal lines staff can assist you

#14 - How do I get a GeoVera quote for new business?
Log onto their website with your SIU logon and password, and quote as you did before. The servicing producer will now be SIU
#15 - When will the commission checks from Geovera will be issued?
This will be the same as before - approx 15th of the month
#16 - Is the check separate from our other lines of business checks?
Yes
#17 - Do we need to request for the checks in writing or are they automatically sent to us ?
GeoVera will automatically send these to you
#18 - Can we rewrite the GeoVera business with GeoVera before the expiration date of the non renewed policy ?
Yes - you need an override, and will lose the renewal credits
#19 - Can we move the business from Geovera?
Yes - contact your SIU underwriter if you want a quote with a different personal lines carrier.
#20 - What about getting a quote on other types business?
You can submit other types of personal lines, marine, umbrella, commercial risks and transportation/ garage risks to SIU via fax or email our underwriters. The fax # is 407-671-9262.
#21 - Can we write hunt clubs / leased hunting land?
YES
#22 - Can we write farm equipment?YES
#23 - Can I submit a copy of a policy or a DEC page to get a quote?NO - we need a completed ACORD app, and on some risks your underwriter may also ask for a supplemental app
#24 - Where do I get a broker of record letter?You may write your own on your letterhead, just state the risk name and policy number, and your intent to move the risk to SIU
#25 - Can I move a risk mid-term from another MGA to SIU?NO, carriers only allow changes at policy renewal
#26 - Do I get Write Rewards for policies moved from another MGA to SIU?YES, on qualifying business (no direct bill, no auto or garage risks)
#27 - Where do I send submission?Send everything to the Winter Park, FL office and we will make sure it goes to the correct department
#28 - When do I get my commission?PAY YOUR SELF NOW - take out your commission and send SIU only the net premium due!
